Base Salary
$143k - $304k/yr
Responsibilities
- Set technical direction and drive architecture and API design across Edge, Chromium, and the broader web ecosystem.
- Deliver foundational web platform innovations focused on correctness, performance, security, accessibility, and compatibility.
- Contribute directly to the Chromium codebase.
- Partner with standards bodies, open-source communities, browser vendors, and internal teams to advance interoperable web capabilities.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship across complex, cross-team engineering initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field and 6+ years of technical engineering experience with C, C++, and/or Rust, or equivalent experience.
- Preferred qualifications include a master’s degree with 8+ years of experience, or a bachelor’s degree with 12+ years of experience, or equivalent experience.
- Experience contributing to large-scale software engineering projects.
- Experience designing or implementing browser, runtime, operating-system, or other performance-critical systems.
- Experience with Chromium and web standards or comparable browser or runtime systems.
- Demonstrated technical leadership across teams or organizations on complex, cross-cutting initiatives.
- Strong design, coding, debugging, and performance-analysis skills in C++ or a comparable systems-programming language.
- Ability to meet required Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements, including the Microsoft Cloud background check.
