Base Salary
$143k - $304k/yr
Responsibilities
- Serve as a technical leader and domain expert for shipping AI- and ML-based intelligent services and products.
- Lead architecture for complex backend, data, and ML systems meeting security, compliance, scalability, and reliability requirements.
- Define engineering quality strategies, metrics, reusable design patterns, and practices that improve reliability, maintainability, and developer efficiency.
- Partner with product managers, applied scientists, data engineers, and other stakeholders to deliver features and platform improvements.
- Create and improve internal tools and frameworks that accelerate developer velocity, automation, and system effectiveness.
- Mentor engineers through code reviews, design reviews, and technical guidance.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field and 6+ years of technical engineering experience with coding in languages including C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python, or equivalent experience.
- Ability to pass Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements, including the Microsoft Cloud background check.
- Preferred experience designing, implementing, and operating large-scale distributed, data-intensive, ML-driven, or evaluation systems in production.
- Preferred ability to set technical direction, influence architecture, mentor engineers, and drive cross-team initiatives.
- Preferred 5+ years of experience developing and deploying AI/ML or GenAI products or systems across multiple product-cycle stages.
- Preferred experience with large-scale distributed systems, data platforms, ML pipelines, Azure platforms, and modern deployment practices.
- Preferred experience defining engineering metrics for performance, reliability, and observability, plus experience with SOTA AI tooling.
