Staff Engineer – Experimentation Team

Base Salary
$183k - $295k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build the experimentation statistical engine ensuring statistical correctness across all experiment types.
- Design warehouse-native experimentation that runs analysis inside customer warehouses.
- Lead adaptive experimentation including contextual bandit systems and Bayesian optimization.
- Drive the platform roadmap in collaboration with product, design, and data science teams.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with various teams including Warehouse Integrations and SDK.
- Mentor engineers to enhance the team's statistical rigor and system design.
- Own operational excellence including monitoring, observability, and incident response.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience building large-scale experimentation platforms or data-intensive backend services.
- Strong knowledge of applied statistics including hypothesis testing and experiment design.
- Experience with adaptive experimentation ML techniques such as contextual bandits and Bayesian optimization.
- Proven track record designing warehouse-agnostic systems across major data platforms.
- Proficiency in Go, Python, or similar languages for backend services and statistical computation.
- Experience with event-driven architectures and large-scale data processing.
- Familiarity with cloud environments like AWS or GCP and infrastructure-as-code.
- Demonstrated technical leadership and ability to influence across teams.
- Ability to communicate statistical concepts to both product and engineering audiences.
