Base Salary
$114k - $125k/yr
Responsibilities
- Maintain reliability and performance across customer-facing GovCloud services and foundational infrastructure.
- Lead major incident response for Sev0/Sev1 events and participate in post-incident reviews.
- Conduct root cause analyses and implement preventative solutions with Global Solutions teams.
- Automate detection and resolution of recurring production issues.
- Improve engineering workflows to reduce operational and engineering toil.
- Ensure reliability activities align with compliance, security standards, and operational guidelines.
- Collaborate across teams, mentor teammates, and support continuous technical learning.
Requirements
- U.S. citizenship, no dual citizenship, operation on U.S. soil, and eligibility to complete an MBI Moderate Public Trust investigation or other applicable government clearance.
- A related technical degree.
- Demonstrated experience with enterprise-scale internet service operations or systems engineering.
- Expertise with TCP/IP technologies, networking protocols, or network programming.
- Command-line and administration experience with Unix variants including Linux, Solaris, or BSD, such as Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Solaris.
- Knowledge of security monitoring systems and infrastructure administration.
- Experience provisioning, operating, and running AWS/C2S infrastructure and systems.
- Proficiency in Python, Go, or similar scripting or programming languages.
- Ability to support 24/7 high-availability operations, including shift and on-call rotations.
- Strong written and verbal communication and collaborative teamwork skills.
- Familiarity with incident management principles and IT service operation frameworks.
- Preferred experience with Chef, Puppet, automated deployment, Jenkins, Bamboo, Spinnaker, monitoring and alert systems, Java applications, AWS CLI/SDKs, Kubernetes, and resilience engineering.
- Preferred Linux+, RedHat, or AWS certifications and experience with blameless retrospectives and post-incident investigations.
- Preferred experience using AI development tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Codex, or Cursor, along with advanced prompt engineering skills.
