Base Salary
$160k - $210k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, engineer, and build AI-powered SRE platform systems used by engineering teams.
- Participate in live-site monitoring rotations, handle escalations, drive mitigations, and conduct postmortems.
- Improve system availability, scalability, performance, reliability, and operational excellence based on live-site learnings.
- Embed engineering best practices into platforms and systems rather than relying only on documentation.
- Onboard teams by writing integrations, pairing with engineers, removing adoption friction, and measuring outcomes.
- Ship early, gather user feedback, and iterate on platform capabilities.
- Drive task planning, estimation, scheduling, and staffing.
- Influence engineering-wide process improvements and best practices.
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience architecting and engineering large-scale distributed commercial applications and services.
- Experience building and maintaining complex internal platforms adopted by multiple teams in critical paths at a large company.
- Demonstrated ability to drive platform adoption through hands-on integrations and friction removal.
- Experience building and maintaining complex AI-powered applications in production.
- Proficiency in one or more object-oriented languages such as C#, C++, Go, or Python.
- Strong computer science fundamentals and deep knowledge of data structures, algorithms, multithreading, synchronization, asynchronous patterns, and cloud programming.
- Experience with service-oriented and microservice-based architectures, HTTP applications, and web services development.
- Familiarity with agile development, CI/CD, and DevOps practices, and the ability to work with globally distributed teams.
- Experience with at least one cloud provider, including Azure, AWS, or GCP, and managed services such as AKS or GKE.
- Experience with database backends such as Azure SQL, CosmosDB, Azure Data Lake, Power BI, MongoDB, MySQL, or DynamoDB.
- Experience working with or managing production Kubernetes infrastructure is a plus.
