Base Salary
$160k - $210k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, engineer, and build SRE platform systems and AI-powered capabilities used by engineering teams in their critical paths.
- Participate in live-site monitoring rotations, handle escalations, drive mitigations, and conduct detailed postmortems.
- Improve availability, scalability, performance, reliability, and quality based on live-site learnings and architectural analysis.
- Embed engineering best practices into platforms and drive their adoption through integrations, pairing, and friction removal.
- Treat systems as products by shipping early, gathering user feedback, and iterating based on adoption and user needs.
- Drive task planning, estimation, scheduling, and staffing.
- Participate in and influence process improvements and best practices across the engineering organization.
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience architecting and engineering large-scale distributed commercial applications and services.
- Experience building complex internal platforms adopted by multiple teams in critical paths at a large company.
- Experience building and maintaining complex AI-powered applications in production.
- Proficiency in one or more object-oriented languages such as C#, C++, Go, or Python, with solid computer science fundamentals.
- Deep understanding of data structures, algorithms, multithreading, synchronization, asynchronous patterns, and cloud programming.
- Experience with service-oriented and microservice-based architectures, HTTP applications, and web services development.
- Familiarity with agile development, CI/CD, and DevOps, plus the ability to work with globally distributed teams.
- Experience with cloud providers such as Azure, AWS, or GCP and managed services such as AKS or GKE is required.
- Experience with or management of production Kubernetes infrastructure is a plus.
- Experience with database backends such as Azure SQL, CosmosDB, Azure Data Lake, Power BI, MongoDB, MySQL, or DynamoDB.
