Base Salary
$125k - $250k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own and improve serialized, gated deployments, schema migrations with rollback, and staging-to-production promotion.
- Build reliable local, remote, sandbox, preview, and review environments with strong environment parity.
- Develop agent-first infrastructure including MCP gateways, governance, cost management, and foundation model selection.
- Manage infrastructure-as-code, Terraform/OpenTofu standards, drift remediation, and migration from DigitalOcean to AWS.
- Establish repository standards, ownership registries, onboarding workflows, and an internal developer portal.
- Build observability foundations for tracing, logging, metrics, Datadog cost and hygiene, incident management, and status pages.
- Improve secrets and configuration management, SSO, IAM scoping, ECR scanning, audit logging, and vulnerability management.
- Host internal AI tools through Numeric Labs with reusable authentication, hosting, and observability capabilities.
- Partner directly with engineers and other users to identify friction and improve developer productivity.
Requirements
- 3+ years of software engineering experience, including significant experience in infrastructure, platform, or developer-productivity work.
- Strong infrastructure knowledge spanning AWS, containers/ECS, networking, and infrastructure-as-code.
- Confidence with AWS, Terraform/OpenTofu or similar IaC tools, CI/CD systems, and Linux/container fundamentals.
- Strong general-purpose programming skills, primarily in TypeScript and with Python where appropriate.
- Pragmatic product-building approach to developer experience, internal tooling, and third-party versus in-house solutions.
- Preferred: experience with Spacelift, Atlantis, Datadog, Firetiger, Chronosphere, GitHub Actions, or Buildkite.
- Preferred: incident-management experience, SLA definition, high-traffic site operations, and support for non-engineer contributors.
