Base Salary
$174k - $252k/yr
Responsibilities
- Write and test product or system development code.
- Review other engineers’ code for style, accuracy, testability, efficiency, and adherence to best practices.
- Contribute to and update documentation or educational content based on product updates and user feedback.
- Triage, debug, track, and resolve product or system issues by analyzing impacts on hardware, networks, services, and quality.
- Participate in or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to select among available technologies.
- Build and improve foundational backup infrastructure for the Google Photos Android application.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- Five years of programming experience in Java or Kotlin.
- Three years of Android application development experience.
- Three years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products.
- One year of experience with software design and architecture.
- Preferred: master’s degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field.
- Preferred: five years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
- Preferred: three years of experience with performance, large-scale systems data analysis, visualization tools, or debugging.
- Preferred: one year of experience in a technical leadership role.
