Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services and RESTful APIs using Java, Spring Boot, and Hibernate.
Translate technical designs and business requirements into maintainable backend solutions.
Develop scheduled or background processes when required, including with Quartz.
Use AI-assisted development tools for code generation, implementation, testing, and engineering productivity.
Review, validate, and improve AI-generated code for quality, security, and maintainability.
Troubleshoot backend issues and contribute to application performance and reliability improvements.
Participate in technical design, architecture discussions, code reviews, and backend engineering best practices.
Collaborate with Product, Design, DevOps, and Operations teams throughout the software development lifecycle.

At least 5 years of professional backend software development experience.
Strong hands-on experience with Java, preferably Java 17, Spring Boot, and Hibernate or JPA-based persistence.
Proven experience designing and developing RESTful APIs and scalable, maintainable, production-ready backend applications.
Strong understanding of object-oriented programming and software design principles.
Experience with automated testing, debugging, and code review practices.
Ability to participate in technical design discussions and translate designs into working solutions.
Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Interest in adopting AI-assisted development tools and ability to critically review AI-generated solutions.
Preferred experience with Quartz or similar libraries, design-first or specification-driven development, cloud-hosted applications, AWS, GCP, or another cloud platform, and transaction-based products.
