Base Salary

$170k - $235k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, architecture, implementation, testing, deployment, and long-term evolution of secure, scalable AI platforms and proxy systems.
  • Own complex platform initiatives end-to-end and define technical strategy and best practices for secure, effective applied AI.
  • Onboard frontier models, expand compute resources, and optimize proxy systems for performance, security, logging, and control.
  • Build shared products, prompts, skills, infrastructure, automation, reliable data systems, and tools for converting engineering problems into deployed solutions.
  • Develop AI-powered code review, pull-request automation, safety guardrails, and other business risk-mitigation tools.
  • Drive adoption by mentoring engineers, communicating platform value, providing hands-on support, and partnering with cross-functional stakeholders including ML researchers, security, and operations teams.
  • Identify high-value opportunities and deliver scalable AI-powered solutions that improve production and development velocity.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or another engineering discipline plus 5+ years of professional production software experience, or 7+ years of such experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Experience developing and operating production platforms, including AI/ML infrastructure, developer platforms, or large-scale backend systems.
  • Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, security architecture, and integrations across multiple cloud and frontier model providers.
  • Experience with model onboarding, compute orchestration, observability, and infrastructure supporting high-volume AI usage.
  • Proficiency in Python and strong experience with additional languages such as Go, Java, TypeScript, or Rust.
  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD, and highly reliable distributed systems.
  • Ability to enable and mentor others through tools, documentation, training, and direct partnership.
  • Applicants must satisfy SpaceX ITAR eligibility requirements or be eligible to obtain required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
