Responsibilities
- Design, execute, and analyze API performance and volume tests, including load, stress, and endurance testing.
- Model realistic workloads, prepare test data, and evaluate throughput, latency, response time, and error rates.
- Identify application, database, and infrastructure bottlenecks and provide actionable performance-improvement insights.
- Use monitoring and observability tools for root-cause analysis.
- Develop end-to-end performance strategies spanning UI and API layers.
- Collaborate with development, DevOps, and quality engineering teams to resolve performance issues.
- Integrate performance tests into automated CI/CD pipelines and contribute to cloud scalability, resilience, chaos, and failover testing.
- Prepare governance materials, reporting dashboards, impact reports, and stakeholder communications.
Requirements
- Hands-on experience with API performance testing using JMeter, LoadRunner, or Gatling.
- Strong understanding of test strategy, workload modeling, test data setup, and performance metrics.
- Experience analyzing performance test results and diagnosing application, database, and infrastructure bottlenecks.
- Working knowledge of Splunk, Dynatrace, AppDynamics, or Grafana for monitoring and observability.
- Understanding of banking or payment systems and distributed microservices architectures.
- Strong experience in performance and volume testing, including load, stress, and endurance scenarios.
- Strong collaboration skills with development, DevOps, and quality engineering teams.
- Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and integrating performance tests into automated pipelines.
- Knowledge of cloud-based performance and scalability testing using AWS or Azure.
- Basic scripting skills in Java or Python.
- Understanding of resilience testing, chaos testing, and failover validation.
- Familiarity with non-functional test governance, reporting dashboards, and stakeholder communication.
- Experience in business banking or payments domains such as FPS, RPS, bill payments, or APIs is valued.
