Responsibilities
- Analyze network automation requirements and translate network engineering intent into explicit, testable specifications.
- Design and lead architecture for automation services, device drivers, data models, source-of-truth boundaries, and vendor abstractions.
- Develop and maintain Python services, REST APIs, background schedulers and workers, device drivers, configuration renderers, verification engines, and relational data-access layers.
- Automate multi-vendor device interactions using NETCONF, SSH/CLI, vendor APIs, and SNMP across production networks.
- Implement configuration diffing, drift detection, compliance verification, dry runs, staged rollouts, confirmed commits, and rollback paths.
- Conduct design reviews, code reviews, performance analysis, tuning, and technical leadership for large enhancements and integrations.
- Develop unit, cross-functional, device-level, virtual-lab, and automated tests for network-affecting software.
- Drive build and deployment pipelines, worker and scheduler capacity, database topology, credential storage, environment parity, migrations, and release promotion discipline.
- Define production change-control, certification, authorization, audit, maintenance-window, and rollback processes for automated network changes.
- Debug application and network incidents involving unreachable devices, failed commits, authentication failures, telemetry gaps, and stale inventory.
- Report platform health, device and site coverage, poll freshness, verification success, compliance exceptions, release status, and project estimates.
- Evaluate network automation, telemetry, applied AI, and machine-learning approaches while requiring validation and human oversight for device-affecting actions.
Requirements
