Principal Field Engineer (Pharma/Life Science)
Cognite - AI for IndustryResponsibilities
- Act as the technical liaison for key clients, aligning solutions, integration architectures, and technical roadmaps for Cognite Data Fusion expansion.
- Develop client-focused demonstrations, reference architectures, and solution accelerators.
- Educate clients and represent Cognite in meetings, workshops, and technical briefings.
- Translate client feedback into actionable product requirements and ensure integrated solutions are feasible, scalable, and aligned with product strategy.
- Support sales and field engineering teams with technical account strategy, solution architecture, and use-case development.
- Serve as a technical escalation point for complex client engagements and organize client workshops and technical meetings.
- Develop best practices and frameworks, mentor Field Engineers, and share customer insights to improve team effectiveness.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in solution architecture, field engineering, or technical presales/postsales, ideally in enterprise SaaS, cloud platforms, or industrial software.
- Hands-on Python experience and strong software development best practices.
- Experience building trusted relationships with technology partners, enterprise clients, and internal stakeholders.
- Expertise in industrial data, OT/IT convergence, data integration patterns, and scalable architectures connecting operational and enterprise systems.
- Understanding of data platforms, APIs, data pipelines, storage, security, and governance in cloud and hybrid environments.
- Relevant education or practical experience in areas such as petroleum, chemical, mechanical, control system, or process engineering is preferred.
- Knowledge of Azure, AWS, and GCP services and architectures is preferred.
- Ability to lead technical validations and solution accelerators and collaborate with product and engineering teams.
- Strong communication, presentation, and influencing skills for executive, partner, and technical audiences.
