Responsibilities
- Design, build, test, deploy, and operate backend services, APIs, and automation for BI platforms.
- Automate platform lifecycle activities including provisioning, metadata, permissions, migrations, archival, and validation.
- Build integrations with data warehouses, identity providers, orchestration systems, CI/CD, and internal developer tooling.
- Improve system availability, observability, performance, scalability, security, and reliability while supporting production systems.
- Use AI tooling in engineering workflows and build LLM-backed capabilities where appropriate.
- Improve service design, code review, testing, documentation, and developer experience across the team.
Requirements
- 3+ years of professional software engineering experience building and operating production backend, platform, or infrastructure systems.
- Strong Python skills and comfort with SQL, data modeling, and data warehousing concepts.
- Experience building and owning production APIs, integrations, or automation, including authentication, data contracts, service boundaries, and failure modes.
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD, containers, Kubernetes, observability, debugging, and incident response.
- Experience using AI tools such as LLMs, agentic workflows, or AI-assisted development in engineering work.
- Ability to own ambiguous problems end to end and communicate with technical and non-technical teams in a distributed environment.
- Preferred experience with Looker, Sigma, LookML, dbt, Okta, SCIM, role-based access controls, multi-tenant platforms, MCP, agent frameworks, tool-calling, or production LLM-backed features.
