Base Salary

$124k - $226k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Build frontend features for next-generation web product experiences.
  • Ship production-critical frontend code and define patterns and boundaries used by other teams.
  • Own frontend systems from design through long-term evolution.
  • Drive scalable frontend architecture, modernization, maintainability, extensibility, and developer experience.
  • Collaborate with product, design, backend, platform, and machine learning/AI teams on end-to-end features and AI/LLM-powered experiences.
  • Help bring up a new design system for the Scribd brand.
  • Improve web performance, bundling, optimization, accessibility, SEO, quality, and observability.
  • Invest in testing and quality practices that make large-scale migrations safe and repeatable.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of professional frontend software engineering experience.
  • Deep experience with JavaScript/TypeScript and React.
  • Hands-on experience with Next.js or similar modern web frameworks.
  • Strong understanding of frontend architecture at scale, web performance, bundling, and optimization.
  • Experience with microfrontend architectures, monorepos, shared frontend platforms, or shared UI libraries.
  • Experience collaborating with backend and platform teams to define clean integration patterns.
  • Experience operating in high-traffic, high-visibility environments with real user impact.
  • Experience working with or migrating large, complex, or legacy frontend codebases is valued.
  • Strong written and verbal communication and ability to collaborate in a remote, documentation-driven culture.
  • Experience with testing, accessibility, SEO, quality, and observability practices is valued.
