Base Salary
$180k - $240k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own and develop the frontend of Sauna, delivering instant, intuitive, and polished interfaces.
- Make product, UX, and design decisions independently while prototyping and shipping without perfect specifications.
- Build reusable React components and manage application state using appropriate context and Zustand patterns.
- Own full-stack features, including database migrations, backend routes, frontend data fetching, and UI implementation.
- Optimize application performance through caching, refetching strategies, optimistic updates, and reduced duplicate network requests.
- Implement detailed product experiences including loading states, empty states, error messages, and keyboard shortcuts.
- Ship work, gather feedback, and iterate with a high degree of autonomy.
Requirements
- At least 4 years of frontend engineering experience.
- A portfolio of shipped complex web applications, such as multiplayer experiences, large-data applications with sophisticated fetching and caching, or applications using server-sent events.
- Deep expertise with React, state management, component lifecycles, callbacks, useMemo, reusable components, and context or Zustand.
- Comfort owning full-stack features across database migrations, backend routes, frontend data fetching, and UI.
- Strong product sense, design intuition, performance awareness, and visual or interaction design judgment.
- Experience with multiplayer applications, LLM-based interfaces, local-first architectures, or design is preferred but not required.
- Must be based in the Bay Area or willing to relocate before starting.
- Must have US work authorization.
