Responsibilities
- Analyze mainframe source code with AMT tools, identify missing source objects, and document findings in Site Survey reports.
- Attend onsite Site Survey workshops, provide English-Japanese translation, and help prepare English-language current-state reports.
- Assist with source-code translation using AMT Transform toolsets and translate Site Survey reports from English to Japanese.
- Present Site Survey findings to clients in onsite workshops with English-Japanese interpretation.
- Facilitate delivery of migrated source code and data, including target-environment setup and configuration.
- Investigate defects in migrated applications or environment configurations and recommend resolution approaches.
- Provide client training and knowledge transfer on migrated environments.
- Lead solution architecture, assessments, modernization deliveries, and internal delivery teams and project managers.
Requirements
- Demonstrable involvement in several mainframe modernization projects and clear understanding of the candidate's role in those projects.
- Proven experience leading solution architectures, assessments, and mainframe modernization deliveries.
- Familiarity with replatforming, refactoring, reimagining, and other mainframe modernization approaches.
- Strong background with mainframe platforms and languages, including IBM z/OS or Unisys.
- Experience working with large global technology systems integrators and navigating their offerings, capabilities, accounts, and partners.
- Understanding of cloud technologies and how GenAI can affect mainframe modernization.
- Ability to communicate at the level of technical engineers through C-suite stakeholders and establish credibility quickly.
- Strong technical awareness combined with advisory and consulting skills.
- Ability to lead, mentor, and represent a team as a trusted ambassador.
- Fluency sufficient to provide English-Japanese translation in client workshops and translate reports from English to Japanese.
