Responsibilities
- Design, architect, and develop robust, performant, and scalable user interfaces.
- Improve user experience and workflow efficiency for end users.
- Collaborate with backend teams and business experts to understand user needs and design appropriate technical solutions.
- Contribute to a strong engineering culture and high standards of software quality.
- Challenge existing architecture, propose technical alternatives, evaluate trade-offs, and document decisions.
- Maintain and continuously improve the product, infrastructure, and associated engineering processes.
Requirements
- Approximately six years of experience in a similar role.
- Strong, required proficiency with React and TypeScript and experience with modern web technologies.
- Experience deploying complex systems on cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP.
- Ability to evaluate technical trade-offs, anticipate technical debt, and design maintainable solutions.
- Passion for high-quality code and automated testing, with the ability to deliver on schedule.
- Strong organizational skills, autonomy, and ability to produce reports.
- Professional written and spoken English and willingness to collaborate with international clients, partners, and open-source communities.
- Experience with MapBox, Leaflet, geomatics-related products, or WebGL is preferred.
- Full-stack capability with technologies such as Python or Node.js and prior end-to-end product responsibility are advantageous.
- Experience in startup or high-reliability environments such as cloud, defense, or aerospace, including direct responsibility for product and infrastructure maintenance and improvement, is highly advantageous.
