Base Salary
$168k - $245k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and build robust, scalable backend software solutions for Cisco’s Customer Experience platform.
- Own the full software development lifecycle from technical design and backend architecture through deployment.
- Develop APIs, design schemas, optimize database queries, and build distributed production systems.
- Ensure high reliability and fault tolerance across cloud-native distributed systems.
- Build or maintain CI/CD pipelines and resolve deployment failures.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders on deployment and optimization strategies.
- Apply AI-assisted development tools or AIOps practices to improve engineering efficiency.
- Mentor junior engineers and serve as a technical anchor for the team.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or an equivalent field with 7+ years of full software development lifecycle experience, or a master’s degree with 4+ years of related experience, or a PhD with 1+ year of related experience.
- Backend development experience using Python, Go, Node.js, Java, or Rust.
- Experience developing REST or GraphQL APIs and working with relational or NoSQL databases, including schema design and query optimization.
- Experience with messaging or event-streaming technologies such as Kafka or AWS SQS/SNS.
- Experience with CI/CD workflows, including building or maintaining pipelines and resolving deployment failures.
- Experience with AWS, Kubernetes, Docker, and infrastructure-as-code using Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Experience applying AI-assisted development tools or AIOps practices.
- Preferred experience in distributed production environments, large-scale data ingestion and ETL/ELT, real-time streaming or CDC, observability, and Angular or React.
