Responsibilities
- Own the inner workings of the entire Dapster robotic system
- Develop and maintain embedded software and driver-level code for sensors and actuators
- Integrate device communication interfaces and perform early signal processing
- Read device specifications, register maps, and driver APIs to integrate unfamiliar hardware into the product
- Create electrical interfaces between different devices
- Contribute to foundational technology and products for AI-fueled robotic picking solutions
Requirements
- Excellent C and C++ programming skills in a Linux environment
- Excellent Python programming skills
- Experience writing and maintaining driver-level code for sensors, actuators, and communication interfaces such as WiFi and Bluetooth
- Experience handling early signal processing for device data
- Ability to learn unfamiliar devices by reading specifications, register maps, and driver APIs and integrating them into products
- Ability to quickly assemble circuits for electrically interfacing different devices
- Strong academic and work record, such as a BS in computer science or electrical engineering with 5+ years of experience or an MS in those fields with 3+ years of experience, or commensurate work experience
- Excellent communication skills
- Prototyping and soldering skills are preferred
- Experience contributing to at least one full version of a shipped embedded device is preferred
