Lead Embedded System Software Engineer

Responsibilities

  • Own the inner workings of the entire Dapster robotic system
  • Develop and maintain embedded software and driver-level code for sensors and actuators
  • Integrate device communication interfaces and perform early signal processing
  • Read device specifications, register maps, and driver APIs to integrate unfamiliar hardware into the product
  • Create electrical interfaces between different devices
  • Contribute to foundational technology and products for AI-fueled robotic picking solutions

Requirements

  • Excellent C and C++ programming skills in a Linux environment
  • Excellent Python programming skills
  • Experience writing and maintaining driver-level code for sensors, actuators, and communication interfaces such as WiFi and Bluetooth
  • Experience handling early signal processing for device data
  • Ability to learn unfamiliar devices by reading specifications, register maps, and driver APIs and integrating them into products
  • Ability to quickly assemble circuits for electrically interfacing different devices
  • Strong academic and work record, such as a BS in computer science or electrical engineering with 5+ years of experience or an MS in those fields with 3+ years of experience, or commensurate work experience
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Prototyping and soldering skills are preferred
  • Experience contributing to at least one full version of a shipped embedded device is preferred
