Responsibilities
- Own the systems and integration testing strategy across C++, Java, and Python components and service or process boundaries.
- Design, build, and maintain the Python/pytest test automation framework using AI-assisted development tools such as Claude.
- Embed systems and integration tests into CI/CD pipelines to identify breaking changes before production.
- Apply contract testing such as Pact selectively as a complement to systems and integration testing.
- Partner with client engineering leaders to diagnose quality gaps and drive adoption of testing tools, frameworks, and practices.
- Mentor engineers on Python/pytest test engineering and integration testing best practices.
- Define and evolve test automation roadmaps while balancing coverage, speed, and maintainability.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience as a Test Architect, Principal SDET, or senior test engineering leader.
- Proven ownership of systems and integration testing strategy for complex, distributed, polyglot systems.
- Strong hands-on Python development skills and deep pytest expertise building and maintaining automation frameworks.
- Experience testing across service and process boundaries in environments spanning C++, Java, and Python.
- Ability to read, and ideally write, C++ and Java alongside Python.
- Experience embedding automated testing into CI/CD pipelines.
- Client-facing consulting experience influencing senior technical stakeholders and shaping testing strategy roadmaps.
- Exposure to contract testing such as Pact is preferred but not the primary focus.
- Confidence translating testing strategy into business outcomes and communicating with engineers and clients.
- Enthusiasm for using AI coding assistants such as Claude to develop and maintain test tooling and frameworks.
