Responsibilities
- Design enterprise Azure landing zones, including management groups, subscriptions, networking, identity, security, governance, and operations.
- Provision Azure services hands-on with reusable Terraform modules, root configurations, remote state, and provider configuration.
- Lead a team of two to four engineers by allocating work, reviewing code and designs, removing blockers, and owning technical quality.
- Lead enterprise workload migrations through discovery, assessment, wave planning, design, execution, cutover, rollback, and optimization.
- Design platform networking and services including Virtual WAN or hub-and-spoke networks, ExpressRoute, VPN, private DNS, Azure Firewall, routing, private endpoints, compute, storage, and backup.
- Implement identity, access, governance, security, and operational baselines using Entra ID, RBAC, managed identities, Azure Policy, Defender for Cloud, Key Vault, Azure Monitor, and Log Analytics.
- Establish infrastructure delivery practices including repositories, branching, CI/CD pipelines, approvals, secrets handling, drift detection, validation, and security scanning.
- Act as the engagement design authority, lead architecture reviews, resolve escalations, conduct knowledge transfer, and mentor engineering teams.
- Support presales and pursuits through solution architecture, estimation, migration planning, delivery plans, and client-facing workshops.
- Contribute reusable Terraform modules, reference architectures, accelerators, and practice intellectual property.
Requirements
- 10–12 years of experience in cloud infrastructure, platform engineering, or infrastructure architecture, with a substantial recent focus on Microsoft Azure.
- Proven experience designing and building enterprise Azure landing zones end to end.
- Deep hands-on Terraform expertise, including reusable modules, state management, providers, dependencies, and automated pipelines.
- Broad Azure experience across compute, networking, storage, databases, backup, monitoring, and platform services.
- Strong Azure networking experience with hub-and-spoke and Virtual WAN topologies, ExpressRoute, VPN, NSGs, UDRs, Azure Firewall, Private Link, private endpoints, and DNS.
- Experience with Azure identity, security, governance, Entra ID, RBAC, managed identities, Key Vault, Azure Policy, Defender for Cloud, and compliance requirements.
- Enterprise-scale workload migration experience covering assessment, wave planning, execution, and cutover.
- Hands-on infrastructure DevOps experience with Azure DevOps Pipelines or GitHub Actions, Git workflows, code reviews, and pipeline-driven deployment.
- Scripting ability in PowerShell and/or Python.
- Experience leading a small engineering team and maintaining technical quality on medium-to-large engagements.
- Strong client-facing communication skills and the ability to defend architecture decisions with senior stakeholders and review boards.
- Preferred qualifications include Microsoft Azure certifications, HashiCorp Terraform Associate certification, Azure Landing Zone accelerator experience, FinOps experience, AWS or GCP exposure, Kubernetes and AKS platform design, GitOps delivery, regulated-environment experience, global systems-integrator experience, and contributions to reusable infrastructure accelerators.
