Responsibilities

  • Partner with engineering teams to deliver platform modernization, product evolution, and new product initiatives.
  • Lead technical strategy and architectural decisions across large, multi-team initiatives.
  • Define scalable system boundaries and address performance, data flow, reliability, and architectural bottlenecks.
  • Design AI-driven systems, context-aware infrastructure, validation layers, static analysis, and automation hooks.
  • Lead exploration, prototyping, and validation of ambiguous technical problems.
  • Partner on disaster recovery planning, testing, and optimization.
  • Mentor Staff+ engineers and influence engineering and product leadership.
  • Create durable runbooks, decision logs, tests, and other artifacts for continued team ownership.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience building and scaling complex software systems.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field; alternatively, 6+ years with a Master’s degree, a PhD with 4+ years of experience, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience using AI as a primary development collaborator while maintaining a strong quality bar for AI-generated output.
  • Preferred experience leading large cross-pillar technical initiatives and delivering across platform modernization, iterative product development, and greenfield work.
  • Strong architectural judgment in distributed systems, APIs, and platform design.
  • Preferred experience with TDD, BDD, load testing, stress testing, chaos testing, invariant testing, or mutation testing.
  • Experience building infrastructure that improves engineering velocity and quality at scale.
  • Ability to infer behavioral specifications from code, tests, logs, existing systems, and subject-matter experts.
  • Strong written communication, durable documentation habits, and an empowering leadership style.
