Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain Java-based cloud-native applications and backend services on GCP.
- Implement cloud solutions supporting ingestion, processing, storage, retrieval, and distribution workflows.
- Create and maintain versioned, documented RESTful APIs with backward compatibility and service integrations.
- Integrate AI-enabled capabilities into applications and support evaluation and monitoring concepts.
- Troubleshoot cloud application defects and performance issues, perform root-cause analysis, and provide preventative fixes.
- Implement secure coding, authorization, encryption, auditing, secrets management, and policy-aligned data handling.
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code for repeatable deployments.
- Implement logging, metrics, tracing, alerting, operational documentation, and runbooks.
- Collaborate with DevOps, QA, product management, and security teams on delivery and support.
- Participate in architecture reviews, design reviews, code reviews, technical documentation, and shared engineering standards.
Requirements
- At least 7 years of experience in technology or software development, preferably involving software development.
- Strong professional experience developing backend services and APIs in Java.
- Hands-on experience designing, deploying, and operating applications on Google Cloud Platform using serverless or container-based approaches.
- Experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs, authentication and authorization patterns, and service integrations.
- Experience integrating AI capabilities into applications and familiarity with basic evaluation and monitoring concepts.
- Knowledge of secure engineering practices including least privilege, service accounts, secrets management, encryption, and audit logging.
- Familiarity with CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code, and Git-based development workflows.
- Strong troubleshooting, defect triage, performance tuning, production support, collaboration, and communication skills.
- Familiarity with Agile and software development life cycle practices is preferred.
- Familiarity with VersionOne, ServiceNow, change/configuration management, or ALM practices is preferred.
- Exposure to Docker, Kubernetes fundamentals, or managed/serverless deployments is preferred.
- A bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent from an accredited institution is required, with three years of progressive relevant work experience considered in place of every year of education; a completed master’s degree is strongly preferred.
