Base Salary
$157k - $184k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own the technical direction of customer-facing registries, APIs, and serving systems for Chainguard Repository.
- Design, build, and operate high-availability backend services in Go.
- Lead scalability, reliability, observability, performance, and load-testing initiatives for production systems.
- Drive repository architecture, service-boundary, and operational decisions for artifact-serving infrastructure at scale.
- Collaborate with engineers across Chainguard to expand the repository platform to additional artifact types.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience building and operating production backend or infrastructure systems with senior-level ownership.
- Strong Go experience or deep backend systems experience with the ability to ramp quickly in Go.
- Experience with customer-facing infrastructure such as package registries, artifact repositories, APIs, developer platforms, or other high-scale serving systems.
- Experience deploying and managing production services with sound reliability, observability, performance, and operational judgment.
- Comfort working across application and infrastructure layers, including cloud infrastructure and infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform.
- Strong systems problem-solving instincts, curiosity, communication, and collaboration skills, especially in a remote environment.
- Preferred experience with package registries, Docker registries, GitLab package services, Artifactory, Nexus, software supply chain security concepts, provenance, SBOMs, trusted artifact distribution, open source infrastructure, or multi-artifact repository platforms.
