Responsibilities
- Own the technical vision, architecture, and strategy for Stord’s AI platform.
- Design and build agent orchestration, tool systems, prompt management, integration APIs, and stateful edge components.
- Develop daily in TypeScript using Hono, Cloudflare Workers, Durable Objects, D1, Drizzle, and the AI SDK.
- Build reliable, scope-aware tools that expose orders, inventory, and knowledge-base capabilities to AI agents.
- Design fault-tolerant integrations with downstream Elixir/Phoenix services and integrate ML model outputs through APIs.
- Establish technical quality standards through design reviews, code reviews, architectural guidance, and release participation.
- Mentor engineers, grow senior technical decision-makers, and teach directed AI-assisted development practices.
- Create reusable abstractions, architectural documentation, and developer tooling that increases team productivity.
- Partner with product, engineering leadership, data scientists, ML engineers, and product engineering teams on AI adoption and platform strategy.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of production TypeScript experience and the ability to own a large TypeScript codebase.
- Experience designing stateful distributed systems at the edge; Cloudflare Workers, Durable Objects, or similar experience is strongly preferred.
- Production experience building and shipping agentic or LLM-powered features, including prompt engineering, tool or function calling, context management, and reliability practices.
- Experience consuming or integrating with event streaming systems such as Redpanda or Kafka; Redpanda Connect or Kafka Connect experience is a plus.
- Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs, OpenAPI specifications, and event-driven architectures.
- Strong SQL fundamentals and experience with D1, SQLite, PostgreSQL, or similar persistence technologies; Drizzle ORM experience is a plus.
- Hands-on experience with Cloudflare, GCP, or AWS and understanding of serverless and edge deployment models.
- Experience instrumenting production systems with OpenTelemetry, Datadog, or similar observability tools.
- Strong technical judgment, communication, influence, accountability, mentoring, and team-multiplier skills.
- Experience with Elixir/Phoenix, Cloudflare developer platform services, Anthropic Claude, the AI SDK, Model Context Protocol, WebSocket systems, authorization, multi-tenant systems, logistics, e-commerce, supply chain, or open-source TypeScript and AI projects is preferred.
