Responsibilities
- Write complex T-SQL queries to validate data, including duplicates, joins, keys, execution order, and reconciliation.
- Test ETL pipelines and data warehouses from source to target, including transformations, completeness, and end-to-end flows.
- Perform automated, API, accessibility, performance, load, and data completeness testing.
- Validate SSRS and Power BI reports against SQL queries rather than building the reports.
- Define testing plans and strategies, identify edge cases and risks, and recommend acceptance-criteria improvements.
- Guide QA priorities during sprints, track progress, reduce QA rework, and support delivery commitments.
- Document risks and blockers, advance testing best practices, and mentor junior team members.
- Present testing plans, metrics, insights, and proposed improvements to client stakeholders.
- Conduct recruiting interviews and evaluate candidates for hiring or contracting.
Requirements
- 5–8 years of professional experience in relevant technology and projects.
- Genuine fluency writing complex T-SQL from scratch and validating data in a Microsoft SQL Server environment.
- Experience with ETL and data warehouse testing, including source-to-target validation, transformations, completeness, and mapping specifications.
- Strong QA methodology covering test cases, test plans, test strategy, positive and negative testing, performance and load testing, and data completeness testing.
- Experience testing SSRS and Power BI reports against SQL queries.
- Experience leading and executing automated testing for web and mobile applications across the software development lifecycle.
- Client-facing experience presenting technical and business value to stakeholders.
- Experience coaching and mentoring through collaboration and code reviews.
- A relevant intensive program, bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Familiarity with Azure data sources, SSAS cubes, and version control is preferred; deeper Power BI, Fabric, or data-modeling experience is a plus.
