Responsibilities
- Define, develop, verify, and optimize embedded firmware for low-power mixed-signal circuits.
- Design firmware functions and subsystems from specification definition through production support.
- Implement testability and diagnostic features for hardware testing.
- Define and implement pre-silicon simulation validation, unit testing, regression testing, debugging, emulation, FPGA prototyping, and top verification.
- Participate in system and digital hardware-firmware architecture, specification analysis, and firmware optimization.
- Support silicon lab evaluation, performance characterization, and debugging.
- Collaborate with system, digital hardware, analog, verification, and cross-functional teams.
- Provide technical support to test, product, and application engineers.
- Generate technical documentation and participate in design reviews.
Requirements
- 4+ years of industry experience in embedded firmware for integrated circuits.
- Bachelor of Science or Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.
- Solid knowledge of firmware development for integrated circuits, real-time embedded systems, data paths, signal processing, and power, speed, hardware-resource, and area trade-offs.
- Experience with MCU-based systems and ARM, RISC-V, PIC, or STM32 architectures and instruction sets.
- Proficiency in C/C++, assembly language, Python, debugging, and embedded software suites or IDEs.
- Experience implementing testability and diagnostic features.
- Experience with configuration, version control, release management, integration, unit testing, and regression testing.
- Experience with I2C, I3C, SPI, MIPI, JTAG, and PCIe hardware protocols.
- Experience with bare-metal firmware and real-time embedded systems is preferred.
- Experience developing embedded firmware for mixed-signal ICs is preferred.
- Hands-on experience with development boards, FPGAs, logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, power supplies, multimeters, and associated measurement methods is preferred.
- Knowledge of signal processing, digital hardware, analog systems, modeling, testing, and applications is preferred.
- Experience with system and digital design methods and tools, Matlab, SystemVerilog, Verilog, or VHDL is preferred.
