Responsibilities
- Build robust backend services and APIs for existing and new web and mobile application features.
- Own selected roadmap features across design, development, testing, release, and post-release support.
- Interact with internal users to provide support, gather feedback, and plan platform features.
- Mentor junior engineers and perform code reviews to maintain high-quality code.
- Promote maintainable code through Test-Driven Development and comprehensive automated tests.
- Participate in on-call incident response, postmortem analysis, and remediation efforts.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Computer Science or a related technical field.
- At least 4 years of experience with JavaScript, TypeScript, Node.js, or other backend engineering frameworks.
- At least 4 years of industry experience with database design, SQL, and relational databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQL.
- Experience mentoring junior developers.
- Understanding of RESTful APIs, microservices, distributed systems, and event-driven architectures.
- At least 2 years of experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, AWS CodePipeline, or CircleCI, including release-process ownership.
- Preferred experience with Docker and Kubernetes for containerization and orchestration.
- Preferred exposure to cloud infrastructure, networking, security, and monitoring on AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Preferred experience implementing and managing RabbitMQ, Kafka, or AWS SQS for asynchronous processing and inter-service communication.
- Preferred understanding of React, Angular, or Vue.js.
- Preferred experience identifying and resolving distributed-system performance bottlenecks using profiling tools and load testing.
- Must be able to work in-office at the company headquarters in Downtown Dallas.
