Responsibilities
- Build and ship core product features, systems, and infrastructure.
- Convert AI-assisted prototypes into reliable, scalable, production-grade software.
- Own architecture, security, quality, and technical direction across major product areas.
- Direct, evaluate, and control agentic development workflows with human oversight.
- Define engineering standards, architecture patterns, review practices, and AI-native workflows.
- Collaborate with founders on product strategy, technical tradeoffs, and execution.
- Debug complex issues and make high-judgment technical decisions.
Requirements
- 8–12+ years of experience building and shipping production software.
- Experience owning systems used by real users, including production incidents, scale, reliability, and long-term maintainability.
- Daily experience using AI coding tools such as Codex, Claude Code, Cursor, or similar tools.
- Strong software engineering fundamentals in architecture, debugging, system design, and code quality.
- Strong security judgment, particularly regarding risks in AI-generated code.
- Ability to assess where AI tools excel or fail and where human expertise is required.
- Strong ownership of ambiguous, technically difficult problems.
- Startup, 0-to-1, founder, first-engineer, or early-stage product experience.
- Preferred experience as a founder, first engineer, or early technical leader, or working on enterprise, security, compliance, infrastructure, mission-critical, AI-agent, developer-tool, AI-infrastructure, governance, or automation products.
- Preferred public body of work such as open-source projects, technical writing, demos, talks, or AI-native development content.
