Responsibilities
- Shape product roadmaps during global sprints held every six months.
- Design user experiences for software products, including developer tooling and command-line applications.
- Write high-quality, resilient, and performant code for potentially large user populations.
- Develop mastery of programming languages and Linux system knowledge.
- Engage users and the open source community through code reviews and issue trackers.
- Respond to customer issues and develop an understanding of enterprise requirements.
- Apply security awareness to software design and implementation.
Requirements
- Exceptional academic performance in high school and university.
- Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, Mathematics, or another STEM discipline with programming courses.
- Ability to begin delivering high-quality code in Python, Rust, C/C++, Golang, JavaScript, or Java.
- Experience with Ubuntu or another Linux distribution.
- Personal technology and software engineering projects beyond the curriculum.
- Professional written and spoken English.
- Ability to travel internationally twice a year for company events lasting up to two weeks.
- Upstream open source contributions and Linux distribution packaging contributions are preferred.
- Experience with Debian, Fedora, Arch, or Nix contributions is preferred.
- Leadership, organization, presentation, writing, and business or commercial interests are preferred.
