Responsibilities
- Design, develop, troubleshoot, review, and debug secure, high-quality production software.
- Build cloud-native AWS solutions and data-intensive applications and workflows using Databricks and Spark.
- Develop LLM and agentic systems using orchestration, tool calling, retrieval, structured outputs, evaluations, and safety guardrails.
- Identify and automate recurring issue remediation to improve application and system stability.
- Lead architectural evaluation sessions with vendors, startups, and internal teams.
- Lead software engineering communities of practice focused on new and emerging technologies.
Requirements
- Formal training or certification in software engineering and application development plus 7+ years of applied experience.
- Strong hands-on expertise in Python and/or Java with experience delivering secure, high-quality production code.
- Strong AWS experience across compute, storage, security/IAM, networking, and observability.
- Strong experience building LLM and agentic systems, including orchestration patterns, tool/function calling, retrieval, structured outputs, evaluations, and safety/guardrails.
- Experience building data-intensive applications and workflows with Databricks, Spark, Delta, and jobs/workflows.
- Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript and React.
- Experience with automation, continuous delivery, testing, code quality, release controls, application resiliency, and secure engineering practices.
- Strong system design skills and ability to make pragmatic trade-offs and align stakeholders.
- Preferred experience with AWS EC2, EKS, RDS, S3, Lambda, EMR, Glue, PySpark, Hadoop, Snowflake, SQL, Airflow, and data pipelines using ETL/ELT.
