Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain scalable performance-testing frameworks that enable product teams to independently design, execute, and analyze tests.
- Define NFRs, SLAs/SLOs, workloads, volumes, success criteria, and performance objectives with product and engineering teams.
- Build internal tools and AI-driven solutions for test orchestration, analysis, and reporting.
- Design and execute load, stress, spike, and soak tests, including scenario modeling, correlation, parameterization, and test-data management.
- Lead root-cause analysis and troubleshooting across HTTP/API, application, database, cloud, Kubernetes, and infrastructure layers.
- Conduct change-impact and performance-risk assessments for features, architecture changes, and releases.
- Use Splunk, Dynatrace, and other observability tools to monitor services, analyze performance, and create dashboards and alerts.
- Collaborate with platform and cloud teams to optimize AKS, KEDA, infrastructure capacity, and overall system performance.
- Support capacity forecasting, resilience testing, synthetic monitoring, and distributed load testing.
- Produce test reports, executive summaries, recommendations, risk assessments, and Go/No-Go recommendations.
- Define and improve performance engineering standards, frameworks, and governance across product teams.
- Coach and mentor engineers and connect performance insights to customer journeys, business KPIs, and product outcomes.
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience in performance or reliability engineering within high-traffic, distributed systems.
- Strong experience defining NFRs, workload models, SLAs/SLOs, and performance requirements.
- Hands-on expertise with k6, JMeter, LoadRunner, or similar performance-testing tools.
- Strong understanding of APIs, microservices, databases, event-driven systems, networking, and cloud-native architectures.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot complex performance and reliability issues across the technology stack.
- Strong Python, Bash, JavaScript, or similar scripting and automation skills.
- Experience with Git, automated performance testing, and performance gates.
- Experience with Splunk, Dynatrace, SignalFx, or comparable observability tools.
- Experience with Kubernetes/AKS, CDN/caching, synthetic monitoring, capacity planning, resilience testing, and performance analysis.
- Ability to connect technical performance work to product and business outcomes and communicate with diverse stakeholders.
- Experience coaching and mentoring engineers and driving improvements in performance engineering maturity, scalability, and reliability.
- Comfort working in an Agile environment.
