$200k - $288k/yr

Responsibilities

Pioneer new technical capabilities in the Open Source Analytics community.
Design and implement features for Apache Iceberg and Apache Polaris.
Collaborate with the open-source community by contributing code and reviewing pull requests.
Architect systems that integrate open-source technologies with Snowflake.
Contribute to the Iceberg table format and REST specification.
Work on data access control and governance features for Apache Polaris.
Build tooling for automating data lake table maintenance.

4+ years of experience designing and building scalable, distributed systems.
Strong programming skills in Java, Scala, or C++.
Deep understanding of distributed transaction processing and high-performance query engines.
Experience with open-source data lake formats like Apache Iceberg and Parquet.
Experience building cloud-native services with public cloud providers.
A passion for open-source software and community engagement.
Familiarity with data governance and access control models.
