Responsibilities
- Design, implement, apply, and operate mechanisms that reduce abusive behavior, misuse, and policy violations in the Trust & Safety domain.
- Analyze user behavior, system logs, and intervention results to identify risk signals, assess issue scale, and evaluate countermeasure effectiveness.
- Continuously improve systems supporting Trust & Safety detection, prevention, investigation, and response as risk patterns change.
- Build and operate backend systems that protect users, deter misuse, and improve the reliability of Pairs.
- Collaborate with Trust & Safety stakeholders, Data Analysts, product backend teams, SRE teams, and security teams to improve quality, performance, security, and operability.
Requirements
- Strong interest in improving development efficiency, performance, and security practices.
- Ownership and communication skills for effectively involving stakeholders and delivering results.
- Willingness to learn about AI and experience developing with coding agents.
- At least three years of commercial application implementation, release, and operations experience.
- Experience building commercial Web APIs running on public clouds such as AWS or Google Cloud.
- Experience designing and building various testing approaches.
- Experience creating and operating commercial Web application container images, including Dockerfiles and middleware installation.
- Basic knowledge of common Web application middleware such as Nginx and MySQL.
- Business-level or higher Japanese and conversational-level or higher English.
- Preferred: Experience analyzing user behavior, system logs, and intervention results in rapidly changing abuse, misuse, or policy-violation risk domains and continuously improving detection, prevention, and response mechanisms.
- Preferred: Ability to independently extract, aggregate, and analyze data and evaluate issue scale, priority, countermeasure validity, and intervention impact, with Data Analyst support as needed.
- Preferred: Experience turning self-directed analysis and evaluation into development and improvement in environments with rapidly changing user behavior and risk patterns.
- Preferred: Experience designing scalable databases and applications for large data volumes and high traffic.
- Preferred: Experience using AI development-support tools to improve development workflows, code quality, documentation, and team productivity.
- Preferred: Experience building deployment scripts and Dockerfiles for container environments.
- Preferred: Experience or knowledge of public cloud infrastructure construction using AWS or Google Cloud.
- Preferred: Knowledge of basic Web application security measures and their necessity.
