Responsibilities
- Design, build, and optimize production-ready image and video generation pipelines for generation, inpainting, upscaling, style transfer, conditioning, and post-processing.
- Develop agentic workflows, MCP servers, and scalable microservices to orchestrate and serve generative AI capabilities.
- Create prompt management systems and structured prompting strategies for consistent fashion-specific and virtual try-on outputs.
- Engineer consistency mechanisms and quality gates in collaboration with data scientists who own evaluation methodology.
- Integrate multimodal and vision-language models for image understanding, automated tagging, captioning, and quality pre-screening.
- Build and maintain ML architecture, pipelines, and applications supporting production training and inference of generative models.
- Collaborate with product, design, data science, engineering, creative, and domain teams to translate business needs into scalable solutions.
- Evaluate emerging technologies, models, and vendors through proof-of-concept studies.
- Champion full-stack algorithm engineering practices and build reliable, observable services optimized for cost, latency, and throughput.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of professional hands-on experience building or operationalizing image generation systems, including diffusion models or multimodal pipelines.
- Strong Python proficiency and practical experience with PyTorch and/or Hugging Face for model serving, fine-tuning support, and inference optimization.
- Experience designing agentic workflows or AI orchestration systems with tools such as LangGraph, ADK, A2A, CrewAI, or similar; familiarity with MCP is a strong plus.
- Strong background in scalable APIs, microservices architecture, and highly available distributed systems.
- Proficiency with Docker, container orchestration, cloud-native services, cloud-based AI infrastructure, and Terraform or similar infrastructure-as-code tooling.
- Experience with AI-powered development tools such as Cursor, VS Code Copilot, Claude Code, or Gemini.
- Understanding of image and video generation models, generative AI orchestration patterns, prompt management, and production engineering practices.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, TDD, automated code quality standards, cross-functional communication, ambiguity, and minimal oversight.
- Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Preferred qualifications include video generation, fashion or retail generative AI, virtual try-on, AI product photography, on-model image generation, fine-tuning workflows, computer vision, LLM evaluation, prompt engineering, creative design tools, or data pipeline orchestration experience.
Benefits
- Medical, dental, and vision benefits, PTO, generous employee discounts, retirement savings, and additional employee benefits are offered subject to location and employment status.
- URBN provides an inclusive work environment and equal employment opportunities.
