Base Salary
$115k - $192k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own technical execution of AI initiatives from discovery through production, including building, assessing, and hardening prototypes and proofs of concept.
- Design and govern reusable agentic AI patterns covering orchestration, tool use, memory, retrieval, and production guardrails.
- Integrate AI solutions with enterprise systems through APIs and data pipelines while meeting security, compliance, data-governance, residency, and infrastructure standards.
- Codify validated solutions into reusable patterns, reference implementations, and starter kits for adoption across functions.
- Finalize requirements, provide design input, write specifications, fix complex bugs, and design complex data models with internal stakeholders and end users.
- Provide infrastructure, hosting, sizing, budget, and managed-service recommendations and act as the squad's primary technical contact for external resources.
- Plan and sequence delivery, manage scope and dependencies, remove blockers, and drive pilots toward production.
- Establish baselines and instrumentation to measure productivity, cost, and quality outcomes from pilot through scale.
- Track in-flight AI pilots to prevent duplication and identify opportunities for reuse.
- Evaluate emerging technologies, make technical decisions, and mentor and elevate engineers.
Requirements
- 10+ years of software engineering experience with hands-on AI system design, build, or integration and a record of taking enterprise AI prototypes to production.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Computer Science, or equivalent experience; an advanced degree is preferred.
- Experience with LLM orchestration, prompt engineering, context-window management, production guardrails, MCP, tool-augmented agents, and enterprise-scale RAG.
- Experience integrating AI into enterprise systems through APIs and data pipelines with strong security, data-governance, and data-residency practices.
- Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP and managed AI/ML services.
- Knowledge of relational, columnar, and vector data stores and sound software architecture principles.
- Proficiency in Python, Java, TypeScript or JavaScript, SQL, and relevant AI SDKs.
- Experience planning delivery, managing scope and dependencies, influencing technical decisions, communicating with senior stakeholders, and coordinating internal and external resources.
- Budget awareness and experience measuring productivity, cost, and quality outcomes for AI initiatives.
- Ability to work effectively in ambiguity, frame problems, define specifications, and prioritize shipping validated outcomes.
