Responsibilities
- Design, build, manage, and implement enterprise infrastructure platforms across cloud, network, database, storage, platform, computing, and middleware domains.
- Develop control-plane components, event-driven automation, policy-as-code enforcement, self-service developer experiences, governance gates, and observability capabilities.
- Implement automation, monitoring, optimization, resilience, high availability, fault tolerance, and performance improvements for enterprise infrastructure.
- Develop production microservices, event-driven services, CI/CD pipelines, developer portal workflows, secrets-management processes, and container-security pipelines.
- Lead infrastructure projects and programs aligned with organizational strategy, compliance requirements, and regulatory standards.
- Troubleshoot complex infrastructure performance and reliability issues and review infrastructure designs, configurations, and procedures.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external partners to integrate technologies and improve infrastructure standards and processes.
- Provide technical guidance, training, and direction to infrastructure teams and lower-level technical professionals.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of professional experience in infrastructure engineering.
- Advanced knowledge of enterprise cloud, network, database, storage, platform, computing, and middleware technologies.
- Strong proficiency in Python with FastAPI and/or Java for production microservices deployed on Kubernetes or OpenShift.
- Hands-on experience with Open Policy Agent and Rego for policy-as-code authoring, testing, and enforcement.
- Experience with Apache Kafka producer and consumer services, Confluent schema registry integration, and event-driven architectures.
- Experience implementing resilience patterns, horizontal scaling, connection pooling, caching, performance optimization, and high-availability systems.
- Experience implementing GitLab CI/CD pipelines, security scanning, governance gates, Backstage developer portal workflows, and HashiCorp Vault processes.
- Experience with OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Splunk, Jaeger or Tempo, AWS or Azure, Terraform, and Ansible.
- Experience with container security practices including Cosign image signing, CycloneDX SBOM generation, and container scanning.
- Preferred experience in regulated financial services and compliance frameworks including FFIEC, SOX, NIST 800-53, or PCI.
- Industry certifications such as CKA, AWS Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect, or HashiCorp Certified Vault Associate are preferred.
- Experience with internal developer platforms, platform engineering initiatives, and AI coding assistants such as GitLab Duo or GitHub Copilot is preferred.
