Staff Software Engineer, Identity & Access Management

Base Salary
$185k - $260k/yr
Responsibilities
- Define and own the technical architecture for authentication and authorization across the SimSpace platform.
- Lead the design and development of Keycloak-based identity infrastructure.
- Design and build the authorization layer using a Relationship-Based Access Control (ReBAC) model.
- Establish and evangelize cross-team authentication and authorization standards.
- Partner with technical leaders to translate business and security requirements into technical roadmaps.
- Lead project scoping and estimation for new initiatives.
- Identify and drive resolution of technical risks and security gaps within the IAM stack.
- Mentor and grow senior engineers on the IAM team.
Requirements
- Experienced Staff or Senior Software Engineer with a background in platform or infrastructure services.
- Proven ability to design, build, and ship production-grade distributed services.
- Solid understanding of authentication protocols like OAuth 2.0, OIDC, and SAML.
- Experience with Keycloak or comparable identity providers is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to drive technical standards across multiple teams.
- Strong project scoping and estimation instincts.
- Strong communicator capable of translating complex security concepts.
- Experience with Kubernetes and modern container-based infrastructure.
