Responsibilities
- Design, build, operate, and maintain critical alerting systems while owning their reliability, performance, and availability.
- Build and scale distributed systems for Prometheus-based alert ingestion and delivery and Grafana-managed alert evaluation.
- Drive projects from initial ideation through delivery and ongoing operations for customers.
- Work with teammates and customers to deliver features, evaluate results, and iterate on the product.
- Participate in on-call rotations and take ownership of operated services.
- Mentor and support team members, contribute to design discussions, and collaborate across teams.
- Contribute to open-source projects beyond the immediate team’s scope.
Requirements
- Solid experience with at least one programming language; Grafana Labs uses Go, and familiarity with Python, Java, C++, Rust, or similar languages is also relevant.
- Experience delivering projects from requirements gathering and ideation through shipping to customers in a self-driven manner.
- Experience developing software that runs in the cloud or experience with systems engineering.
- Experience writing clean, robust, performant, and maintainable software.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills for effective work in a fully remote environment.
- Customer focus, pragmatic problem solving, and a willingness to contribute to open-source projects are valued.
