Responsibilities
- Design, build, operate, and maintain critical distributed systems for Grafana Alerting and SLOs.
- Build systems for large-scale alert ingestion, delivery, and evaluation of Grafana- and Prometheus-based alerts.
- Drive projects from ideation and requirements gathering through deployment, operations, and customer feedback.
- Own system reliability, performance, and availability, including participation in on-call rotations.
- Contribute to Grafana’s open-source culture and projects beyond the immediate team scope.
- Mentor teammates, participate in design discussions, and collaborate in a remote-first engineering organization.
Requirements
- Solid experience with at least one programming language; the team primarily uses Go, with Python, Java, C++, Rust, or similar experience also relevant.
- Experience delivering projects from requirements gathering and ideation through shipping to customers in a self-driven manner.
- Experience developing software that runs in the cloud or experience with systems engineering.
- Experience writing clean, robust, performant, and maintainable software.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills suited to an independent remote-working environment.
- Customer focus, pragmatic problem-solving ability, and a willingness to learn a large distributed-system codebase.
