Responsibilities
- Design, build, operate, and maintain distributed systems for Grafana Alerting and SLOs.
- Develop systems that scale alert ingestion, delivery, and evaluation for Grafana- and Prometheus-based alerts.
- Drive projects from ideation and requirements gathering through shipping, customer use, and ongoing operations.
- Own system reliability, performance, availability, and participation in on-call rotations.
- Collaborate with customers, Grafana Cloud teams, and fellow engineers on roadmap, design, and product improvements.
- Contribute to Grafana open-source projects and mentor and support other team members.
Requirements
- Solid experience with at least one programming language; Grafana uses Go, and Python, Java, C++, Rust, or similar experience is transferable.
- Experience delivering projects from requirements gathering and ideation through shipping to customers in a self-driven manner.
- Experience developing software that runs in the cloud or experience with systems engineering.
- Experience writing clean, robust, performant, and maintainable software.
- Ability to analyze complex challenges, design modular solutions, deliver iteratively, and use customer feedback to improve products.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills and the ability to work independently in a remote environment.
- Customer focus, pragmatism, initiative, and interest in creating intuitive products.
