Responsibilities
- Automate ML model deployment and retraining from training through production inference using continuous delivery and continuous training pipelines.
- Build, fine-tune, or use pre-trained large language models, deep learning models, and traditional machine learning models.
- Evaluate and recommend vendor or custom AI and ML solutions for Smartsheet products.
- Implement model versioning, lineage tracking, and auditing for security, ethical, and compliance standards.
- Monitor production model health and performance and address model drift, staleness, and degradation.
- Incorporate user feedback and manage model retraining cycles.
- Provision and manage scalable cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code.
- Partner with data scientists, software engineers, product managers, and business functions to integrate ML solutions.
- Provide architectural guidance and mentorship to ML engineers, data scientists, and analytics engineers.
- Document complex machine learning concepts in clear technical materials.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience creating, deploying, and scaling machine learning solutions in a cloud environment.
- At least 7 years of programming experience in AI/ML languages such as Python or Scala.
- At least 4 years of experience developing deep learning and traditional machine learning models with frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, Hugging Face, and scikit-learn.
- Strong applied data science skills, including selecting machine learning approaches and evaluating algorithm performance.
- Experience staying current with generative AI approaches and technologies such as OpenAI, LangChain, and Stable Diffusion APIs.
- Experience developing, documenting, and supporting REST APIs.
- A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
