Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain backend applications and services using Java 17+ and Spring Boot.
- Design and implement REST APIs and integrations using JSON, XML, and SOAP.
- Develop reusable integration capabilities and synchronous, asynchronous, and event-driven interaction patterns.
- Integrate applications with Apache Kafka or equivalent enterprise messaging platforms.
- Implement authentication and authorization using OAuth 2.0, JWT, and enterprise access-management solutions.
- Build automated unit and component tests with JUnit, Mockito, or equivalent frameworks.
- Participate in code reviews and uphold clean code, security, performance, and engineering-quality standards.
- Containerize applications and support delivery through Docker and OpenShift or Kubernetes platforms.
- Implement logging, metrics, and tracing according to observability standards.
- Identify and resolve scalability, reliability, and performance issues.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, API specifications, and implementation notes.
- Use approved generative AI tools responsibly for development, testing, and documentation while validating generated output.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of hands-on backend development experience with Java.
- At least 3 years of hands-on development experience with Spring Boot.
- At least 3 years of experience designing and implementing REST APIs and system-to-system integrations.
- At least 2 years of practical experience with Oracle Database and SQL, including relevant PL/SQL interaction.
- At least 2 years of experience with messaging or event-driven solutions, preferably Apache Kafka.
- At least 2 years of experience with Docker and container orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes or OpenShift.
- Proven experience delivering business-critical enterprise applications through the full software delivery lifecycle.
- Experience in banking, financial services, or another highly regulated industry is strongly preferred; at least 2 years is preferred for banking-experienced candidates.
- At least 3 years of experience delivering integrations for card-processing or card-management systems.
- At least 2 years of experience with card issuing, card acquiring, card authorization, or card transaction-processing platforms.
- Proven experience integrating with Visa and/or Mastercard services, interfaces, or certification-related flows.
- Experience with card lifecycle processes such as issuance, activation, renewal, replacement, tokenization, or transaction processing.
