Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, test, debug, and enhance software solutions using Python and other relevant technologies.
- Write clean, readable, maintainable, scalable, and testable code.
- Investigate software defects, identify root causes, and implement technical fixes.
- Support application maintenance, modernization, upgrades, releases, and ongoing issue resolution.
- Participate in code reviews and uphold coding, testing, documentation, quality, and source-control practices.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver software within agreed requirements, priorities, quality standards, and timelines.
- Document application changes, technical decisions, troubleshooting steps, and maintenance procedures.
- Evaluate and recommend technologies aligned with project requirements, technical standards, and business objectives.
- Contribute to improvements in software development processes, automation, maintainability, resource efficiency, and sustainable technology use.
Requirements
- 5–10 years of experience in software development or a related field.
- Practical experience with Python development, maintenance, debugging, enhancement, testing, and troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of additional programming languages such as Java or C# and understanding of object-oriented concepts, modular design, error handling, scalability, and maintainability.
- Familiarity with source-control systems such as Git, including version management, branching, merging, and collaborative code development.
- Experience with Agile or Waterfall software delivery environments, code reviews, defect resolution, documentation, and software maintenance.
- Understanding of data sources, data-management systems, data structures, relational or non-relational databases, and SQL is preferred.
- Understanding of deployment environments, infrastructure, scalability, availability, monitoring, and cloud or distributed environments.
- Experience with Python frameworks or libraries, reusable components, APIs, service-based architectures, and framework or library upgrades is preferred.
- Experience with automated testing, continuous integration and delivery, build automation, code-quality, issue-tracking, monitoring, logging, or deployment tools is preferred.
- Understanding of secure software development, including input validation, access control, secure data management, authentication, authorization, encryption, and vulnerability management, is preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field; equivalent relevant professional experience may be considered.
- A master’s degree, relevant technical training, industry experience, and internship or related technology experience are preferred or may support qualification.
