Responsibilities
- Define and execute an organization-wide AI adoption roadmap for engineering use cases.
- Take AI-enabled engineering initiatives from prototype through production and establish reusable playbooks, templates, and golden paths.
- Design reference patterns for RAG, secure prompts, evaluation harnesses, model routing, guardrails, and AI platform capabilities.
- Lead technical decisions involving build versus buy, model selection, integration patterns, enterprise architecture, and cloud strategy.
- Embed data privacy, intellectual property, security, governance, and human-review controls into AI usage.
- Improve engineering productivity and quality through automation across CI/CD, code review, testing, release, and observability.
- Define and track engineering delivery and quality metrics such as lead time, change failure rate, MTTR, test coverage, and defect escape rate.
- Coach engineers and technical leads, run workshops and office hours, build communities of practice, and mentor senior engineers.
- Partner with engineering, product, architecture, operations, cybersecurity, risk, compliance, and legal stakeholders across multiple teams and regions.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline; an MSc or PhD is preferred.
- 10+ years of software engineering experience, ideally in financial services or another regulated environment.
- Demonstrated success improving engineering capability and delivery outcomes through modern engineering practices, standards, and developer tooling.
- Practical experience applying AI/ML or GenAI in engineering contexts, including copilots, RAG, code intelligence, test generation, or incident triage.
- Experience designing secure, scalable platforms and APIs and familiarity with cloud-native patterns and CI/CD.
- Strong understanding of the SDLC, DevSecOps, observability, incident management, SRE practices, and production operations.
- Experience building internal developer platforms or golden paths is preferred.
- Familiarity with model evaluation, prompt engineering patterns, and guardrail techniques is preferred.
- Experience working in regulated environments and with risk and compliance stakeholders is preferred.
- Contributions to internal standards, reusable libraries, open source, research, patents, or conference presentations are preferred.
- Strong communication, coaching, stakeholder management, and influence-without-authority skills.
