Responsibilities
- Build new payment systems and enhance or integrate existing payment products.
- Design and implement resilient infrastructure for high-availability, reliable, and scalable production workloads.
- Lead technical initiatives and help set the Payments team’s technical direction.
- Collaborate with product managers, peers, stakeholders, and customers to shape impactful payment solutions.
- Own systems end to end from architecture and coding through deployment and monitoring.
- Diagnose and resolve complex production issues.
- Mentor and support fellow engineers.
- Identify and implement improvements to systems and workflows.
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience building and maintaining complex software systems.
- 6+ years of backend engineering experience focused on production-grade systems.
- 1+ year of JavaScript experience.
- Hands-on experience with critical production systems requiring high availability, reliability, and scalability.
- Familiarity with browser, networking, and security concepts.
- Strong communication, collaboration, problem-solving, ownership, and initiative.
- Professional-level spoken and written English.
