Base Salary
$160k - $250k/yr
Responsibilities
- Develop high-quality C/C++ code and embedded firmware for V-BAT aircraft.
- Support new hardware, features, and capabilities by refining existing firmware and integrating an RTOS onto custom System-on-a-Module hardware.
- Convert legacy bare-metal software to RTOS-based systems and develop firmware controlling robotic vehicles in flight.
- Design and implement software architectures, requirements, interfaces, prototypes, and code reviewed across avionics systems.
- Integrate firmware, software test and verification, autonomy AI, Ground Control Stations, sensors, subsystems, and payloads.
- Develop virtualized-hardware and hardware-in-the-loop test systems and automated tools for software testing, deployment, and data analysis.
- Coordinate software through verification, release, deployment, production, and customer delivery.
- Collaborate with systems, electrical, GNC, test, autonomy, and production engineering teams, and report status, risks, and accomplishments to senior leadership.
Requirements
- Rock-solid software development experience in C/C++.
- Experience developing bare-metal firmware for embedded systems.
- Experience with Linux Kernel or RTOS development, device trees, and bringing up new hardware.
- Familiarity with thread-safe, multithreaded programming.
- Demonstrated ownership of development processes and features, including successfully shipping products and delivering high-quality solutions in fast-paced environments.
- Bachelor's, master's, or PhD degree in Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a STEM discipline such as Aerospace, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.
- Preferred: experience with autonomous robotic systems, including motor control.
- Preferred: experience in startup or R&D environments and the ability to adapt and innovate under changing project demands.
