Responsibilities
- Design and evolve IP and Software-Defined Networking architectures across control, management, and data planes.
- Develop software for network control, automation, orchestration, SDN controllers, VNFs, network services, APIs, and tooling.
- Define test scenarios and validation strategies, including functional and performance testing.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary machine learning, networking, software, and systems teams to prototype and evaluate networking concepts.
- Produce technical documentation covering architecture decisions, implementations, and validation results.
- Participate in technical reviews, demonstrations, presentations, and intellectual property activities such as patents and publications.
Requirements
- Minimum five years of professional experience.
- Strong understanding of IP networking, including protocols, routing, switching, and traffic engineering.
- Solid knowledge of Software-Defined Networking concepts and architectures.
- Experience with software-based networking, network virtualization, NFV, and VNF/CNF technologies.
- Strong software development and software design and architecture skills.
- Programming experience with Python, Java, C/C++, Rust, and Bash.
- Experience with Linux operating systems and Docker, Podman, and Kubernetes.
- Knowledge of networking tools and technologies such as ContainerLab, mininet, ONOS, OpenDayLight, TeraflowSDN, OpenFlow, P4, gRPC, and REST.
- Autonomy, rigor, strong analytical skills, collaborative ability, and interest in innovative programmable networking technologies.
- Experience with Dell or HP servers, Juniper or Cisco firewall configuration, and basic machine learning knowledge are preferred.
- Must hold or be eligible to obtain the required security clearance.
