Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain backend services, APIs, and integration components.
- Build secure, scalable, and maintainable software solutions.
- Develop and support RESTful APIs, service-to-service integrations, and data exchange patterns.
- Collaborate with product owners, architects, software engineers, data engineers, and data scientists to translate requirements into technical solutions.
- Participate in design discussions, code reviews, testing, and release activities.
- Apply secure coding, logging, monitoring, and operational readiness practices.
- Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and improve reliability and supportability.
- Contribute to automation, build and deployment pipelines, and engineering process improvements.
- Follow technology, security, privacy, and compliance standards.
- Maintain information security, protect confidentiality and integrity, report suspected violations, and complete required security training.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of hands-on software engineering experience building backend services, APIs, or integration solutions.
- Strong programming experience in Java, Python, or a similar modern programming language.
- Experience developing and consuming RESTful APIs and working with service-based or microservices-style architectures.
- Understanding of software development lifecycle practices, including design, coding, testing, code review, production support, and automated delivery.
- Experience with SQL and relational or analytical data stores.
- Familiarity with Git, Unix/Linux environments, shell scripting, and automated build and deployment pipelines.
- Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills with the ability to independently resolve technical issues.
- Understanding of secure coding, authentication and authorization patterns, data protection, and operational controls.
- Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Preferred experience with Java/Spring Boot or similar backend frameworks; API gateways; integration platforms; event-driven, messaging, batch, or streaming integrations; observability; logging; monitoring; alerting; production support; and AI/ML-enabled platforms.
- Preferred exposure to Agile delivery methods and cross-functional delivery teams.
