
Lead Software Engineer: DevOps & Infrastructure

Responsibilities
- Design, develop, troubleshoot, and maintain secure, scalable software and production data solutions.
- Build and operate ETL/ELT pipelines using Python, SQL, distributed data-processing technologies, Databricks, Spark, Delta Lake, and lakehouse architecture.
- Develop high-quality production code, review and debug code written by others, and improve application operational stability.
- Identify and automate recurring remediation opportunities to improve system reliability and operational outcomes.
- Lead adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices, including validation standards for secure coding, testing, and code review.
- Evaluate vendor, startup, and internal technology solutions for architectural fit and applicability to existing systems.
- Guide peers on responsible, secure, and effective use of AI-assisted engineering tools.
Requirements
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and at least 5 years of applied experience.
- Hands-on experience with system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
- Experience designing, developing, and operating ETL/ELT data pipelines using Python, SQL, and distributed data-processing technologies.
- Strong knowledge of data warehousing, dimensional modeling, star and snowflake schemas, slowly changing dimensions, partitioning, and query optimization.
- Production experience with Databricks, Apache Spark or PySpark, Delta Lake, Lakeflow pipelines, Lakeflow Jobs, and lakehouse architecture.
- Knowledge of data governance, lineage, access controls, schema management, data quality, and production monitoring.
- Experience integrating relational databases, APIs, files, message streams, and cloud-based storage platforms.
- Experience developing, debugging, and maintaining software in a large corporate environment using modern programming and database query languages.
- Hands-on experience using enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools and validating AI-generated outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
- Understanding of responsible AI use, data sensitivity, secure handling of inputs and outputs, resiliency, secure software development, SDLC, Agile delivery, and CI/CD practices.
- Preferred experience with GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, prompt engineering, embeddings, RAG pipelines, operational copilots, chatbots, Databricks Unity Catalog, Structured Streaming, cloud data platforms, infrastructure-as-code, and deployment automation.
- Proficiency in Python; Go experience, Databricks certification, or equivalent production lakehouse experience is preferred.
