Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, troubleshoot, and review secure, high-quality production software.
  • Architect and deliver AWS and Databricks data platforms and pipelines across ingestion, transformation, curation, and consumption.
  • Build reusable Python and/or Scala libraries, frameworks, pipeline templates, and automation.
  • Own data quality, monitoring, alerting, SLAs, incident triage, root-cause analysis, performance, cost optimization, and operational stability.
  • Drive SDLC standards for CI/CD, testing, secure coding, resiliency, design reviews, and code reviews.
  • Lead and mentor engineers and collaborate with product, analytics, and security teams on roadmaps and execution.
  • Establish validation and adoption practices for enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development tools.
  • Identify and automate recurring remediation opportunities to improve software reliability.

Requirements

  • Formal training or certification in data engineering concepts, architecture, and production ownership, with 5+ years of applied experience.
  • Hands-on experience with system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
  • Strong Python skills and deep experience with Databricks and Spark.
  • Experience leading the effective use of approved AI-assisted software development tools and validating outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
  • Proficiency across the Software Development Life Cycle and advanced understanding of CI/CD, application resiliency, security, and agile practices.
  • Strong AWS experience and knowledge of modern lakehouse and data platform patterns.
  • Proven technical leadership through architecture decisions, mentoring, and cross-team influence.
  • AWS and/or Databricks certification preferred.
  • Experience with streaming architectures, event-driven ingestion, near-real-time processing, monitoring, alerting, and recovery preferred.
